As per screenshot below,
(I) indicating there is 67 unread mail in inbox, therefor the View pane
should show at least 67 mail/messages.
(III) only 10 mail/messages is visible (there is actually 117 total messages in reading pane)
The culprit is (II) "Filter Applied". Most of the user will miss this indicator and start panicking. Most of the standard fixes wont able to fix this , including :
-repair office apps
-office diagnostic
-refreshing and rebuilding outlook profile
-rename outlook key in Registry (i will cover this on my next post hehe..)
The Fix:
go to View > Current View > click Customize Current View.
it will open another dialog box called Filter. Click on Clear All to remove all the filters.
(as for advance users, this is the place where you can set filter according to you preference).
Click Ok > Ok to close the dialog boxes.
And now when you check back, all your mail/messages will be visible again. Check out the indicated "Filter Applies" has disappears.
see ya later!!
Good post....
ReplyDeleteArigato, ken-chan!
ReplyDeleteAlexis, i dont get it, why need to a apps to read OST file, its just a copy of data from the exchange server (messages in inbox) to your hardisk , so that the user can check mails in inbox offline. Normally if the OST get corrupted, i will recommend to rebuilt outlook profile, whereby the system will create a new OST.
ReplyDeletecannot enable the use cached exchange mode , apply this fix 1. Start a admin cmd window
ReplyDelete2. Type regedit in the admin cmd window to launch Registry Editor
3. Go to HKEY_USER\User SID\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\OST
4. Right click on the NoOST entry on the right and click Modify
5. Give it a value of 0
6. Restart Outlook 2007 and the Use Cached Exchange Mode option should no longer be greyed out anymore
